課程概述

This course emphasizes the mathematical treatment of the physical science in quantum chemistry.

The objective of this course is to introduce students to some of the central concepts of classical and quantum mechanics that explain the inherent physical and chemical properties of matter. Of special importance will be an understanding of how these physical principles account for bonding of atoms to form stable molecules, the interaction of matter with light (spectroscopy). The student will learn to apply these principles through practical problem solving.
